An Elegant Fall Wedding

Andrew and Nicole had a stunning fall wedding at RiverCrest, located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. The grounds surrounding the venue along with the gorgeous weather, enhanced their fall theme which was captured beautifully by their wedding photographer, Leah MacDonald.

The Groom and his groomsmen wore silvery grey tuxes accented with burgundy boutonnieres that complimented the bridesmaids’ dresses perfectly. The flowers were filled with shades of deep red that had pops of yellow, orange, and a crisp white creating a wonderful fall color scheme.

Nicole walked down the isle in a beautiful beaded dress by Maggie Sottero, pearl jewelry, “something blue” shoes, and a hand beaded birdcage veil that used a piece of lace from her mothers’ wedding dress.

Andrew and Nicole were married under a charming wrought iron arch that was handmade by the Bride’s father. After the ceremony, the arch became a prime spot for guests to take photos when they weren’t too busy enjoying the Groom play guitar with the band. The perfect evening ending with the guests sending the Bride and Groom off with a dazzling “Sparkler Finale”.

OUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM THE WEDDING:

FROM THE BRIDE & GROOM: The beginning and the end, both were full of love and happy memories which will last a lifetime. We had our ceremony in the Roberts room, because we knew inside under the arch my dad made, and close to all of our guests who were there out of love. Then at the end Big Ric got everyone on the perimeter of the huge dance floor, and had everyone rush in for a massive group hug, it was amazing to visually see each and every one who loved us showing it.

{GUEST BLOG POST} Chasing Fashion: New Year’s Eve Wedding Glam!

Written by Sage Beauty Blog

“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.”

Maya Angelou

Hi Lovelies,

Tis’ the season for engagements and magical winter weddings.  Having a New Year’s Eve wedding is a festive and glamorous way to tie the knot. What better way to start the new year than starting a new life with your true love.  What can I say….I’m a hopeful romantic!

I had the pleasure of creating a New Year’s Eve winter bridal look with the help of the brilliant designer Alyson Nicole.  Her pieces are 100% handmade right here in New York, and are the perfect finishing touch to your wedding day look. She creates bags, belts, custom-made veils and jewelry. Each piece is a work of art with a feminine, elegant, and timeless aesthetic.

Let’s start with something new:

Finding the perfect dress is the first step in creating the look and feel of your wedding. The dress I’m wearing is an ivory empire waist dress with pearl embellishment.  It matched my accessories perfectly, and I loved the flowy and romantic feel of the dress. This dress is very versatile and could also be worn for engagement pictures, a rehearsal dinner, or a bridal shower.

Now we need something borrowed:

The moment I put the Pearl Veil on I felt Princess Grace of Monaco. The Pearl Veil is a birdcage veil made with french tulle and glass pearl details, and stays firmly in place with a metal comb.  This is a good choice if you plan on wearing your hair up for your ceremony.  It matched the vintage-inspired look of my dress as well.   I chose the The Madelyn Earrings because they were a perfect compliment to the veil and can be worn with many other looks after the wedding festivities are done. These chandelier earrings can also be worn with a little black dress for a night out or during the day for a touch of art-deco glamour.  The Pearl Rhinestone Headband was also my ‘something blue’.  It is a fun alternative to a veil or after the ceremony and formal pictures are done, simply switch out your veil for the headband and dance the night away at your reception after midnight.

Don’t forget something old:
I was able to incorporate two pieces from my own closet with my dress. A winter wedding calls for a luxurious fur to keep you warm. Whether you have a soft faux fur coat like me or perhaps a vintage fur from your mother or grandmother, it pulls the look together on the most glamorous night of the year. Or rather, your most glamorous night! And New Year’s Eve is not complete without some sparkles.  I opted for my favorite sparkly gold platforms.

1 Dress 5 Ways

Wedding season is here and it’s a great time especially when you’re a guest for multiple weddings. The celebration is joyful, the food is delicious, the dancing is non-stop fun, and the memories you help create will start the newly weds lives off right.

The only downfall can be the attire, especially if you’re on a budget. As we ladies know, dresses can add up, rather quickly might I add, but that doesn’t mean you have to break the bank. Instead of buying multiple dresses, use one dress and style it with different accessories to transform your look for each wedding to come. I promise you, it’s that easy and I’ll show you how.

I asked my dear friend Cat to help me out with this project. She sent me multiple pictures of dresses she already had in her closet. From those, I chose only one and asked her to model this dress while I styled her five different ways.

Plain Dress

Pulling separates from her closet and mine, styling with some of my handmade accessories we were able to take this one dress and create five different outfits.

Look #1 – Casual

This look is GREAT for a casual wedding. The dress is styled with a blue jean jacket, a pearl y-drop necklace, pearl drop earrings, a blue & white pearl rhinestone headband, and the Cherish clutch in silver.

Look1-Casual

Look #2 – Hamptons chic

A nice preppy look for a beach front wedding. I added a white button up shirt from my closet and tied it in front to add a trendy detail. The outfit is also styled with  the pearl choker necklace with matching bracelet, the beaded pearl headband, and the Lace but Not Least clutch.

Look2-Prep

Look #3 – Glam

If you don’t have the money to spend on a gown, use signature pieces from your closet to glam up your dress. For an example, I adding a black skirt overtop and it already makes this outfit more glamorous! Styled with the crystal chain drop earrings, a hand beaded sash, the Cherish Clutch in black metallic, and the Chloe headband as a beautiful bling necklace!

Look3-glam

Look #4 – Boho Chic

The Boho trend is in more than ever recently!  To get this look pair your dress with something with fringe or macrame. Luckily Cat owned this crochet fringe vest which worked perfectly with this look. I also styled this dress with the crystal quartz pendant, gold chain fringe earrings, the boho chic satin flower wire crown, & a lace belt.

Look4-boho

Look #5 – Art Deco

Ever since the Great Gatsby came to the big screen, people have been obsessed with the fashion. To achieve this style I paired this dress with the hand beaded Aubrey Tiara, the pearl reverse necklace, the pearl & rhinestone bracelet and matching earrings, the Forever & Always clutch, and belted it with a hand beaded crystal belt!

Look5-ArtDeco

As you can see ladies, don’t stress out about wedding season. Take a good hard look in your closet for key pieces to style with some brand new accessories! Preferably from Alyson Nicole 😉

Pop-up at Debra Rose

On Saturday April 25th, Debrah Rose Beauty Essentials held the first ever pop-up for Alyson Nicole.

It was an experience to remember and a generosity to never forget.

For over a month I was preparing for this pop-up along with an event the following weekend hosted by Lovely Happenings (post to come soon!). Not to mention I had about 2 weeks in the midst of this month where I was traveling in China for my 9-5. Needless to say when I got back, my free time was non-existing.
 ~
I’m not sure what it is but every time I have an event my to-do and my to-produce list is always overwhelmingly big. There’s only so many hours in a day which makes it extremely difficult to finish everything on my lists. I was using every minute I could to make these items. On the subway to and from work I used my wire and beads to make my combs and tiaras. People were extremely interested in what I was doing but never saw the final results. It takes a lot of patience to deal with rush hour on the subway let alone standing and twisted beads on wires. Luckily, I was more than satisfied with what I had completed in time for the event. However my apartment and my always-supportive boyfriend were left in a mess of trims and findings. (Sorry!)
 ~
The night prior, I will admit, I was a reck. Thankfully my mother was able to come up for the event and helped me out immensely. For the whole night, I put her to work until she fell asleep. At that time I felt I still needed something else, so I made two pairs of peacock earrings before going to bed. I might be a little crazy… Or just extremely dedicated.
 ~

Setting up my display is probably the most nerve wracking part of any event that I do.  It is a puzzle that always needs fixing. After set-up is complete its pretty much smooth sailing.

The day in whole was a good experience. I cannot complain. I met some great people and got my name out there which is the most important thing.

Aubrey purchased my beaded tiara and wore it right out of the store. It looked great on her and for that I am naming that tiara after her! (Shop it here.)
                      IMG_0054              Aubrie-beaded tiara 4

Another favorite of the day, was my pearl and rhinestone reverse necklace. This necklace is great for low cut backs and is super sexy. The front is embellished with a set of three small Swarovski pearls and rhinestone beads. The dramatic back has two beautiful long silver chains adorned with Swarovski pearls at each end. Beth is now a proud owner of this necklace. (Shop it here!)
                                    pearl reverse 1

The last favorite item was my pearl and rhinestone bracelet. Made from Swarovski pearls and Swarovski rhinestones, this beautiful bracelet is a great compliment to your wrist. (Shop it here!)
                       PearlRhinestoneBracelet 1             PearlRhinestoneNecklace4

Along with those three fan favorites, there was a plethora of new products that debuted for this event.
  • canvas tote bags with leather trim
  • necklaces
  • bracelets
  • earrings
  • tiaras
  • hair clips and combs
  • headbands
Don’t forget to check them all out! They are great gifts for someone special or yourself 😉
Now it’s time to plan the next trunk show/pop-up. Keep checking my events page for more details and new products!
